1. Who we are

VakilDost is an India-focused legal-information and AI drafting platform operated by Advocate Rajat Kaushik. In this Policy, “VakilDost”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of vakildost.in.

VakilDost provides educational legal information, legal-learning resources and AI-generated first drafts. Use of the website does not by itself create an advocate-client relationship or amount to an advocate reviewing your complete facts and documents.

2. Scope of this Policy

This Policy applies when you use:

• the VakilDost website and public legal resources;
• free AI legal-guidance features;
• Google sign-in and account features;
• usage quotas, Draft Passes and payment-related features;
• the AI Draft Generator; and
• email support or other direct communications with VakilDost.

Third-party websites and services have their own privacy practices. This Policy does not replace those third-party policies.

3. Information we may collect

A. Account and sign-in information

• Name, email address, profile image and unique account identifier received through Google sign-in.
• Authentication, session and account-status information.
• We do not receive your Google password.

B. Free legal-guidance information

• Name, city or state, legal-issue category and preferred answer language.
• Amount involved, dates, factual description and the result you are seeking.
• AI-generated guidance and related user interactions.

C. Draft Generator information

• Selected draft type and language.
• Names, addresses, amounts, dates, document descriptions and drafting instructions you provide.
• The AI-generated draft, placeholders and associated generation status.

D. Payment and Draft Pass information

• Order ID, payment ID, amount, currency, payment status and timestamps.
• Draft Pass entitlement, balance, reservation, consumption and duplicate-request protection records.
• VakilDost does not receive or store your full card number, UPI PIN, bank PIN or payment OTP.

E. Support and communication information

• Email address, message content and any information you voluntarily send to us.

F. Technical and usage information

• IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps and referring pages.
• Security events, rate-limit data, error logs and request identifiers.
• Cookie, session and local-storage information used for sign-in, preferences, security and convenience.

4. How information is collected

Information may be collected:

• directly from you when you complete a form, generate a draft or contact us;
• from Google when you choose Google sign-in;
• from Razorpay when a payment or Draft Pass transaction is processed;
• automatically through cookies, local storage, server logs and security systems; and
• from our hosting, authentication, database and AI-processing providers while they perform services for VakilDost.

5. How we use information

We may process information to:

• provide AI-generated legal information and first drafts;
• authenticate users and maintain account sessions;
• apply free-use quotas and manage Draft Pass entitlements;
• process and verify payments and prevent duplicate transactions;
• save and recover successfully generated drafts where the feature requires it;
• provide support and respond to privacy or account requests;
• detect abuse, fraud, spam, security threats and technical failures;
• maintain, troubleshoot and improve the service, including through aggregated or de-identified analysis where reasonably possible;
• enforce our Terms, protect legal rights and resolve disputes; and
• comply with applicable legal, tax, accounting, regulatory or law-enforcement requirements.

VakilDost does not sell or rent personal information to advertisers.

6. AI processing and important limitations

To generate legal guidance or a draft, the information entered into the relevant form may be transmitted through VakilDost’s backend to an external AI model provider. The provider processes the submitted text to return an AI-generated output.

AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or unsuitable for your facts. Every material fact, date, name, legal provision, limitation period and placeholder should be verified before relying on, sending or filing a document.

Please minimise personal information. Do not include passwords, OTPs, UPI PINs, full Aadhaar numbers, full bank or card details, medical information, intimate information, children’s data or third-party secrets unless strictly necessary and lawfully shared.

7. Cookies, browser storage and recent history

VakilDost may use cookies and similar browser technologies for:

• account authentication and session continuity;
• security, fraud prevention and rate limiting;
• language, form and interface preferences;
• performance measurement and website reliability; and
• a small recent-question history saved on your own device for convenience.

Browser-stored history generally remains on that device until you clear it, use the website’s available clearing controls, clear browser data or uninstall/reset the browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or paid features from working correctly.

8. Service providers and information sharing

VakilDost may share limited information with service providers only to operate the website and provide requested features. Current categories include:

• when required by law, court order or a lawful government request;
• to investigate fraud, abuse, cyber incidents or threats to users and the platform;
• to professional advisers where reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate duties; or
• as part of a lawful restructuring, transfer or succession of the platform, with appropriate notice where required.

9. Processing outside India

Some technology providers may operate servers or support systems outside India. Accordingly, information may be processed in other countries. VakilDost will use service providers and safeguards reasonably appropriate to the nature of the data and will follow applicable Indian restrictions on cross-border processing as and when they apply.

10. Data retention

VakilDost keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide a requested service, maintain security, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal obligations.

• Browser history: remains on your device until cleared.
• Account and quota records: may be retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• Draft and transaction records: may be retained to deliver or recover a purchased output, prevent duplicate use, answer disputes and meet payment, tax or accounting obligations.
• Support communications: may be retained until the request is resolved and for a reasonable record-keeping period.
• Security and technical logs: may be retained for the period reasonably needed for security, debugging and legal compliance.

A deletion request may not require immediate removal from encrypted backups or records that must be retained by law. Such data will remain protected and will not be used for unrelated purposes.

11. Security safeguards

VakilDost uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the size and nature of the service. These may include encrypted connections, access controls, restricted secret keys, authentication controls, rate limiting, request validation, logging, backups and limited access to production systems.

No internet transmission, AI service, database or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for using a secure device, protecting your account and avoiding unnecessary sensitive information.

12. Your choices and privacy rights

Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, you may request:

• information about personal data associated with your account;
• correction or updating of inaccurate account information;
• deletion of information that is no longer required, subject to lawful retention needs;
• withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent;
• account closure; and
• review of a privacy grievance.

Send requests from the email address linked to your account where possible. We may ask for limited additional information to verify identity and prevent unauthorised deletion or disclosure.

13. Children’s privacy

VakilDost is not designed for independent use by persons under 18. A parent or lawful guardian should supervise any necessary use and should not submit a child’s personal data unless legally permitted and genuinely required. If you believe a child has submitted personal information without proper authorisation, contact us so that we can review and take appropriate action.

14. Data incidents

If VakilDost becomes aware of a personal-data incident affecting its systems, it will take reasonable steps to contain, investigate and remediate the incident. Notifications to affected users or authorities will be made where required by applicable law.

15. External links

The website may link to courts, government portals, payment providers or other third-party resources. VakilDost does not control their security or privacy practices. Review the relevant third-party policy before submitting information.

16. Changes to this Policy

VakilDost may update this Policy when features, providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website or through an account communication where appropriate.
